Seminars and Workshops
Vidyarthimitra Vd. M. V. Kolhatkar Pratishthan has initiated another venture of arranging seminars and workshops. These seminars were arranged for vaidyas and for students. An appropriate topic was chosen on basis of which a one or two day seminar or workshop was arranged. These workshops emphasize on extensive learning from the core granthas, and the discussions from these workshops assist in building a knowledge base over a particular topic which in turn helps in generating students’ own perspectives regarding that subject.
Some of the workshops arranged for the gurukul teachers were on Ashtang Hrudaya – Sharir Sthan, visha, and the Chatushkas of Sutrasthan of Charak samhita. Workshops arranged for the students were on Tamra, udar-pariksha. A unique competition on ‘rugna pariksha’ was also arranged for the students. A seminar on basti-karma was arranged in which all the facts of basti karma from bruhat trayees were covered. On 25th death anniversary of Vd. M. V. Kolhatkar, a national seminar on ‘Triskandha Ayurveda’ was conducted by the pratishthan.
