The ancient science of Ayurveda is believed to be the upaveda of atharvaveda- one of the main four main vedas. The knowledge imparted through these vedas was mainly inculcated by the oral lore. Thus, the then manuscripted vedas were initially preached and preserved for the disciples through the oral tradition.
The methodology of learning aayurveda includes three foremost steps- PATHA, AVABODHA, and ANUSHTHANA: – Patha (recitation) embarks the first basic step of inculcation. Recitation is reading and memorizing Sanskrit text so that one can achieve perfection in the filed on the ground of diagnosis and treatment.

Hence, inspired by the preachings of our Guruji, Kolhatkar Pratishthan encourages the young Ayurveda fraternity by organizing pathantar spardha with a view of inculcating positivity among the students regarding the Ayurveda. Pathantar spardha is organized for the students of different academic years and the syllabus is based on their ongoing academic curriculum.

Like other competitions, this competition sets a deadline for the participants due to which large amount of syllabus is imbibed in fixed stipulated amount of time, which otherwise would not have been achieved.Precision-Ayurvedic scriptures are precise in terms of its concepts and situations, so pathantar helps the participants to perfectly reproduce the concepts, thus widening the scope of application of the science.

If the slokas are recited thoroughly the prognosis, diagnosis of a particular disorder is accurate and thus the treatment automatically attains perfection. Pathantar gives you a wide frame of looking towards all the text and so the remembrance and connection of various references among all the text can be facilitated.
Many students have competed in this competition so far and have recited the Sutrasthana and Nidansthana of Ashtang Hridaya through this competition.
